Talladega Nights: Avoid it if you can--seriously!
It has been a long week, all I wanted was somthing light and funny, I had no critical expectations... I was unguarded ... no critical tools... I just wanted to relax... but this is mindless drivel, not funny--stupid, who enjoys this stuff? Sorry Trevor I know where I should have been, at your experimetal film/video performance, I just wanted to discombulate in peace and recover for the next day, being that we academics are in our high-stress period--I heard this might lighten my mood, but really... what was funny, did I miss something? I mean I was primed and ready to go (really a few sweet nothings and the right moves and I would have been satisfied)? In other words I should have been easily entertained? (having watched the extras which were hysterically funny when the actors were released from the script/structure of this pitiful film one must only conclude that the director/scriptwriter/editor were incompetent).

Dude, it's cool, the theatre/film thing went really well. It was a good change of pace, gig-wise, after having been subjected to rock band after rock band ('cuz let's face it, experimental or not, it's all ROCK) at that fest in England.
Speaking of which, I almost watched this on the flight home, but decided sleeping was a better strategy. Will Ferrell is the new Chevy Chase. Just wait until he takes his first dramatic role. Or better yet, wanna take bets on how long after his career is perceptibly "over" until some hip young auteur ironically "resurrects" him?
That being said, Anchorman still holds up. "Milk was a bad choice!"
